Silver Jubilee Celebration of Dr. ZA Dental College held

A special programme “Silver Jubilee and Alumni Meet” was organized to commemorate the completion of 25 years of establishment of Dr Ziauddin Ahmad Dental College and Hospital; In his presidential remark, Vice Chancellor of AMU, Prof Tariq Mansoor said, the Dental College has indeed come a long way and over these past two decades it has transformed into a premier institute of the country. During the last 25 years the college has taught and trained dentists of various fields of specialization, who have brought laurels to the University and the country. From its humble beginning the College now have seven departments. I commend the efforts of teaching, non-teaching and students and feel confident as hitherto-fore they shall continue to work with complete dedication towards achieving greater heights and milestones.  

In the recent NIRF ranking for the first time Dr ZA Dental College which is providing affordable dental care has been included and secured 26th rank, he added.

Prof Mansoor paid rich tributes to former Vice Chancellors, Former Principals of Dental College and Deans Faculty of Medicine for their enormous contribution in the formation and growth of the Dental College with special mention of (Late) VC, Mehmoodur Rehman.

He appreciated the efforts of   Principal, Prof RK Tiwari and hoped the collective efforts will increase seats of the college. While felicitating Alumni with certificates, he said our alumni are brand ambassadors and important for perception of the university. 

Early in the day, he unveiled the Monument at the Dental College premise and released a special Souvenir; “Aks” a reflection of 25 glorious years of Dental College and University Journal of Dental Sciences.

The Chief Guest, Dr Dibyendu  Mazumdar ( President , Dental Council of India) who joined the celebration online , in his address appreciated the successful journey of the college and emphasized that any institution does not stand in one day , it takes time and cooperation of all associated with it.

The College has transformed into a robust center of studies in dental medicine, he added.

Special Guest on the occasion Mr Naseem Ahmad (IAS) (Ex-Vice Chancellor, AMU)  making online appearance praised the phenomenal growth of the college and  expressed confidence that it will transcend through several milestones of success to become one of the best dental colleges of India.

Prof SH Hashmi, Founder Principal (Retired), participated as distinguished guest and shared his experiences of the college.

In an inaugural address Prof Rakesh Bhargava (Dean Faculty of Medicine, JNMC) said that these 25 glorious years are testimony of hard work of our dedicated faculty and personal interest taken by the staff and students.

Principal and CMS JNMCH, Prof Shahid Siddiqui said the Dental College has made commendable progress over the past two and half decades in its pursuit to attain excellence in the field of dentistry.

Prof RK Tiwari (Principal, Dr ZA Dental College) talked about the journey that started 25 years back and shared his vision of progress with illuminated ideas for further growth of the Dental College.

Chief Coordinator Prof ND Gupta in his welcome address highlighted the College history.

On this occasion Founder Principal, Former Deans and former Principals were also felicitated.

In the evening a cultural and interactive programme was organized for the Alumni.

Several events have been organized since 16th December 2020 to commemorate the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Dental College.

Vote of thanks was delivered by Organizing Chairperson Prof Afshan Bey and Prof Divya Sanjay Sharma.

Dr Neha Agarwal delivered the introductory speech and conducted the proceedings.
