AMU: Wall-size portrait of Sir Syed unveiled at the Faculty of Arts
Aligarh, November 25: A wall-size, standalone semigloss painting of Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan by Dr Asma Kazmi (Department of Fine Arts) was today unveiled by paediatrician, Dr Hameeda Tariq at the Dean, Faculty of Arts Office, AMU.
“This delightful work of art done with a marked sense of aesthetics will add to the beauty of the Faculty of Arts building”, said Dr Hameeda Tariq.
The artist of the painting, Dr Asma Kazmi pointed out: “I hope that every time the students look at this portrait—they get inspired, strengthen their imagination and get motivated with added significance. I believe a wall-size painting of AMU founder, Sir Syed will arouse enthusiasm among teachers and students”.
“Sir Syed is a source of inspiration for the University and the Country—and this painting will continue to remind us of Sir Syed’s vision and inspire us to contribute to the society in ways that Sir Syed did”, said Prof Syed Mohammad Hashim (Dean, Faculty of Arts).
Chairmen of various departments, other faculty members and students attended the unveiling ceremony of the painting.
