Viqarul Mulk Hall inaugurates varsity's first state-of-the-art coaching and guidance cell

The Viqar-ul-Mulk Hall (VM Hall), a residential hall of Aligarh Muslim University recently inaugurated the Coaching and Guidance Cell, fully equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, which includes a projector, high speed internet facilities, video conferencing facilities and audio-visual aid among other technological facilities. The cell at the is the first of its kind residential halls in the varsity campus to have high-end smart technological facilities.
Chief guest Omar S Peerzada, PRO of AMU, inaugurated the cell along with guests of honour Saad Hameed, varsity's Training and Placement Officer and Ibadur Rahman, assistant professor from Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi. Shadab Khurshid, professor at AMU and provost of the hall and Yunus Ali P, faculty member at AMU and warden in-charge of the hall accompanied the guests during the inaugural of the Cell.
Mr. Peerzada congratulated the hall residents and team for their initiative. He shared his memories working with varieties of organizations and urged the students to make hard labour with right perception of career opportunities and work with determination to achieve their goal.
Saad Hameed said advised students to take care while choosing a career and go with the passion in selecting a job. Mr. Hameed also promised for one day visit in a week for the newly inaugurated cell for the training of communication skills and personality development.
Ibadur Rahman while speaking as guest of honor focused on student activities. He said, 'this cell should act as student activity center that is very successful in Delhi University and IITs". He also shared his experience citing how right guidance helped him to achieve his aim.
Zulfiqar Sheth, Secretary of career and planning reiterated, 'the cell will become a launching pad for various career related activities. It will allow our students to interact with the alumni and corporate leaders throughout the world via video conferencing. Soon the cell will also launch online language exchange program that will enable students to learn foreign languages online'. 'We will also encourage students to acquire skills through massive open online courses (MOOC)', Mr. Sheth added.
Abdullah Modabbir, secretary coaching and guidance cell said, 'C&G cell is a platform that helps the student to grow their skills and also helps in the over all development, each student should come out from shell, innovate and explore new things, student should not only stick on to book knowledge but also implement in their daily life'.
Earlier Prof Khurshid formally welcomed the guests. The event was moderated by Sheth Zulfiqar and was organised by the team of the secretary of coaching and guidance lead by Abdullah Modabbir. Senior Hall Monitor, Mohd Shikoh, AMU students' union vice president Nadeem Ansari, and AMUSU secretary Nabeel Usmani were also present.
