Little Champs Singing Competition held in AMU

The University Hindustani Music Club, Cultural Education Centre, Aligarh Muslim University organized “Little Champs 2017: A hunt for little singing prodigy” from February 15th, 2017 to February 16th,2017 at Kennedy Auditorium.

More than seventy students were registered out of which 27 got into the semi-final held on February 15th, 2017. Fourteen students were selected for the grand finale which composed of 3 rounds; i.e. Self-Choice, Old Melodies and Sufi Songs.


Among the finalists, the little champion of the boys’ category was Haris Qaisar where Faiz Mohsin was the runner up; from the girls’ category Sakshi Chauhan was the little champion while Sakshi Gupta was declared the runner up. The judges of the competition were Meraaj Husain Nishat, Meenakshi Nagpal and Savita Garg. 

The program was instructed and led by Prof. FS Sherani, Coordinator, CEC; the organizing team was instructed under Gulrez Husain, Secretary, UHMC, CEC and Momin Ali, Secretary Public Relations In-charge, CEC, AMU. 

The program was conducted by Eva Varshney. 

Momin Ali is a student of MA ELT at Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh. He is currently serving as Public Relations Incharge at Cultural Education Centre (CEC), Aligarh Muslim University (AMU). Apart from this, he acted in leading roles in several English as well as Bengali Plays. He is also interested in music, specially, playing instruments such as Harmonium, Flute and Dholak.
